The Association has learned of the death of S/Lt Peter John Swain RN. He died peacefully at the age of 80 on 2 August 2013 leaving a widow, Monica.

Peter was a member of the FAA between May 1951 – May 1955.

Whilst flying Sea Hawk WF185 of 898 Squadron 23 August 1954 engine failed due to fuel starvation, attempted forced landing with wheels down, undershot 400 yards from the runway at Brawdy. The aircraft sustained heavy damage, S/Lt Swain unhurt.
