The Association has learned of the death of Sub Lt(A) John Mardon Osborne RNVR on 26 July 2016 aged 95.

John was an Observer who flew with 1771 NAS embarked on HMS Implacable as part of the British Pacific Fleet in 1945.

Whilst flying Fairey Firefly DV131 of 1771 Squadron, Implacable on 28 July 1945 the aircraft ditched. S/L J E Lumsden and S/L J M Osborne picked up by destroyer.
