The Association announces with deep regret the death of Rear Admiral David Walter Kirke, who died peacefully on Thursday, 29th October, aged 89.
Admiral Kirke had a distinguished Naval career. His FAA time commenced in 1937 with 38 Pilots Course at No 1 Flying Training School at RAF Leuchars. His career continued with Command of 887 Squadron in 1942, Air Group Commander 16 CAG HMS Glory 1947, Cdr Air Lee-on-Solent, Commander (Air) HMS Illustrious 1954, Captain RNAS Lossiemouth and lastly as Flag Officer Naval Flying Training at Yeovilton 1966-1968.
