For many, leaving the Royal Navy can be an anxious time getting to grips with a new vocabulary, different ways of working and a wide range of cultures.

There are several organisations that can help with CV’s, interview techniques and identifying transferable skills. Support for service leavers is good and taking advantage of the support available is to be recommended. In the Fleet Air Arm Officers Association, we are fortuitous in the breadth of our membership.

Many of our members have enjoyed second, third and multiple careers following their military service and have grown significant professional networks. We believe that we can enhance the support available for our members in transition by tapping into the wealth of experience in our community. Our aim is to offer a personal perspective from those that are currently employed in, or have retired from, civilian employment.

This is not mentoring or coaching but the opportunity to talk to a member who is relevant to the aspirations of either serving, recently retired or those in their first job after a military career to hear first-hand about their experience and tap into their knowledge and their network as an additional source of insight for future careers. Please feel free to contact one of the members below, who have kindly offered their services.
