RNAS Culdrose has welcomed Lieutenant Commander Helen Dobbs into the role of first lieutenant.
By trade she is an air engineering officer with a background in Sea King and Merlin helicopters, including in engineering training and as a deputy air engineering officer of the former Sea King ASaC squadron 849 NAS. Her most recent role was as Culdrose’s air safety officer.
Lt Cdr Dobbs left the regular service at the end of last year after 15 years in the Royal Navy, and rejoined last month as a full-time reservist.
As first lieutenant, she works closely with the executive officer (the station’s second-in-command) overseeing the Executive Department which helps run the base.
Lt Cdr Dobbs said: “I am absolutely very proud to have this role and I am really pleased to be back at Culdrose. I’ve worked here a number of times in the past and I’ve loved the base and being in Cornwall. I am here to give as much support as I can for the smooth running of the air station and to ensure standards are met.”
