RNAS Culdrose has welcomed back Commander Martin Howard (pictured left) who has taken command of the Maritime Uncrewed Air Systems and Fixed-Wing Force from Commander Chris Fellows.
It means he’s now in overall command of the rear crew and pilot training naval air squadrons 750 and 727 (at RNAS Yeovilton), as well as drone squadron 700X.
It is familiar territory as Commander Howard was previously at Culdrose as the commanding officer of 700X NAS. For the last two years he’s been working in Portsmouth as an advisor in Maritime Aviation Test and Evaluation.
He said it was great to be back in Cornwall particularly at such a time with 700X NAS developing rapidly in global operations and a multi-million pound investment project underway to overhaul 750 NAS.
