Dear FAAOA Officers,
I am delighted to hear that my proposal to take on the position as Chairman of the FAAOA has been accepted by the committee and endorsed at the recent AGM. Those that know me will be aware that I have always been an extremely proud and active supporter of the FAA, both of our immense history and achievements, but more importantly of the people who make up our strong serving and retired community. I had the privilege of leading the FAA during our centenary year in 2009 under the direction of our President, Sir Adrian Johns, where such an event was an enjoyable reminder of where we have come from, what we have achieved, and where we are going in the future.
The FAAOA along with the FNHT and Fly Navy Federation are key assets to our current Admiral Russ Harding, the front line Air Stations, Squadrons and embarked units and we must continue to support them all as we move forward together. Heritage is very much the bed rock and foundation of current and future planning and we should play our part in that where we can provide additional benefit.
I would like to add my thanks to Admiral Scott Lidbetter for his sterling chairmanship and guidance over a period of intense activity during his time in office. He will, I am sure, remain closely connected with the association.
I look forward to meeting many members both new and established at our various events throughout the year, and taking the Officers Association forward together with Sir Adrian over the next few years.
