Earlier this month, the Royal Navy’s 824 Naval Air Squadron dropped in on a boat belonging to Falmouth-based charity Turn to Starboard.

The aircrew carried out four winch-line transfers to the charity’s boat Spirit of Falmouth, which was on a voyage off the west coast of Scotland.

It was all good training for the Merlin Mk2 helicopter crew, which were operating out of HMS Gannet, Prestwick – and it was great to support the charity, which shares our links to Cornwall. Turn to Starboard uses sailing activities to help serving and retired armed forces’ personnel and their families.
