The Association has learned of the death of Lt(A) Frank Cyril Ott DSC RNVR on 30 January 2022 aged 100.

Frank served as an Observer between 1942 – 1945 and was Senior Observer with 851 Squadron.

Whilst flying Avenger FN910 of 851 Squadron on 19 April 1944, during night ASV (air to surface vessel radar (British)) at Katukurunda, the engine failed and the aircraft ditched offshore. S/L R E Patterson, S/L F C Ott & TAG OK.
