The Association has learned of the death of Lt Cdr Jolyon (Joe) Shimmons RN on 28 October 2017 after a short battle with cancer.
Funeral Details
The funeral will take place at 1400hrs on Monday 13th November at Poole crematorium, Gravel Hill Road, Poole Dorset, BH17 9BQ. On completion, the wake will be held at Broadstone Golf Club, Wentworth Drive, Broadstone, BH18 8DQ.
Those attending are asked not to wear black tie and no flower tributes – any donations to cancer research. The family would be delighted to welcome anyone who served with Joe.

Dad joined the Navy in 1965 as a helicopter pilot and spent time at Yeovilton and onboard HMS Albion with 845 NAS. He later moved in to Air Traffic Control and had tours at Yeovilton, Culdrose, Portland, RAF Wattisham, RAF Shawbury, RAF Uxbridge and RAF Northolt. He retired in 1995 and settled in Bournemouth.
