Peter Hoar provides a précis of the Eulogy given by Lt Gordon Dobbie:

Lieut (P) AG (Geoff) Ellis RN       30th Sept 1933 to 30th Jan 2014

Geoff joined up in 1953 and was States-trained.  After jet OFS in the UK he joined 800 Squadron on Seahawks and served in Ark Royal, then Albion at Suez.    In 1958 he went to CFS, then Linton-on-Ouse instructing on Vampires.    Back to 800 on Scimitars from 61-62 and Ark Royal again.  From 1963 to ’65 he was a Trapper at Yeovilton.

Having finished his time, he joined BEA and flew Viscounts, Tridents and 737s. until retiring in 1988.    He was a real Gent and a quiet but enthusiastic expert at everything he did.   He leaves Gina – married for nearly 60 years, and twin sons Michael and Richard.   His funeral, close to his home in Twyford, Berkshire,  was well attended, including several old flying mates and Association members.
