Alan GOATER died 15 January 2011 in Canada. He trained at Kingston, Ontario in 1942. The photograph was taken in 1942 at Lee on the Solent.
He completed his deck landing training in SEA HURRICANEs with 768 NAS and in SEAFIREs with 761. He served in SEAFIREs with 897 NAS in 1944 and then as a DLCO with Ravager, Vindex and Glory. After the war he worked as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in London, Leeds, Malawi and South Africa and upon retirement immigrated to Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
