Who Can Join?
Full Membership – membership is open to serving and retired Officers of all specialisations associated with the Fleet Arm. Among our members are pilots, observers, Royal Marins, Air Traffic Controllers, Meteorological Forecaster, Air Engineers and specialists in Air Medicine. We also welcome exchange officers from the RAF, AAC and foreign navies as well as officers from other branches of the Navy who have served in ships having FAA squadrons or detachments.
Other Armed Services of the Crown, including Commonwealth Services and NATO provided that such Officers have been connected with or have shown particular interest in the work of or have served with the Fleet Air Arm. – £45 Full benefits apply
Joint – for partners and spouses only – £65 must be applied for by the full member
Full range of benefits as for full members
Associate – For those with a family connection to an officer of the Fleet Air Arm and who have an interest in the work of the FAA. The connection can relate to a past family member who was an FAA Officer. Also open to those who have an historical interest in the FAA- £35 Some benefits apply.
All applications will be approved via the Administration Director/committee
Subscriptions
This can be a direct online payment, direct bank transfer or by Direct Debit. Non-UK applicants without a UK bank account will be contacted about other means of paying.
Your Application
If you wish to pay by direct bank transfer or Direct Debit there is a two-step process.
First, you will need to complete an online form so we know who you are and have your contact details.
Then, you will either be provided with the bank details to set up your transfer, or be shown a link to download the Direct Debit form. This form will need to be printed, completed, signed and mailed back to the Admin Director (address will be on the page with the form).
Rejoining members – If you wish to rejoin please use any of the 3 methods indicated; online, bank transfer or Direct Debit.
What happens next?
If your application to pay by bank transfer or Direct Debit is successful, you will receive an acceptance email. Once the bank transfer or Direct Debit form has been received by the FAAOA office, you will receive a welcome letter and log-in details so you can access all areas of the website.
If you choose to join and pay online you will have your log-in details immediately and will receive a welcome letter after joining. In the background the admin team will work to approve your membership.
