On 24 Feb 12 Cdr Mark ‘Sparky’ Macleod RN took command at the Empire Test Pilots’ School, MOD Boscombe Down from Cdr Simon ‘Sparky’ Sparkes RN, perpetuating both a nickname and FAA command of the School. As of July, Cdr Macleod is also the Senior Naval Officer Boscombe Down.
