The Association has learned of the death of Cdr William John (Jack) Carter OBE RN on 30 May 2023 aged 96.
Funeral Details
The funeral will take place at 2.30pm on 12 July 2023 at Guildford Crematorium.

Whilst flying Sea Venom WM 556 of 890 Sqn embarked in HMS BULWARK. Night launch, aircraft towed slowly to the end of the catapult when fired then fell vertically over the bow into the sea and went under the ship 19.05.55. L/C A Gordon-Johnson & Lt W J Carter rescued.
Whilst flying Sea Venom WM558 of 890 Sqn embarked in HMS ALBION. On launch, water lying in the catapult track forced up ahead of the aircraft and ingested into the engine, flame-out, lost power and ditched 800 yards ahead and went under the ship 05.08.55. L/C Gordon-Johnson & Lt W J Carter rescued.
