The Association has learned of the death of Capt Noel Christopher Hillary ‘Jimmy’ James RN on 12th August 2014.

Captain NCH “Jimmy” James RN (Retd) Passed away in hospital 12th August 2014, aged 74. Beloved husband of Anne & much loved father of Jonathan & Hugh, cherished grandfather of Sarah, Jonathan, Rupert & Anna. Funeral 27th August at St. Mellion Church Cornwall at 14:00hrs. A private family service for cremation will be followed by a wake to be held at St Mellion Golf & Country Club at 17:30hrs.

Whilst flying Wessex XS490 of 845 Squadron on 19 September 1972, yawed to starboard on take off, the tail rotor blades hit parked XS485, ditched alongside Albion off Norway (L/C NCH James, CPO EP Martin and 10 Royal Netherland Marines all rescued by helicopter and seaboat).
