Whilst flying Westland Whirlwind XG575 of 737 Squadron Portland on 29 September 1959, heard a single bang then complete transmission failure, ditched 5m off Portland Bill. Lt CJ Isacke, Lt R J Bates & AB B Faulkner rescued by submarine and accompanying aircraft.
Westland Wessex XS482 of 700V Flight Culdrose on 13 March 1964, whilst being marshalled the downwash blew over a Cessna aircraft damaging its wingtip and propeller, St Mawgan.

ISACKE Christopher John, Captain Royal Navy (Retired). Died peacefully on 8th May aged 86. Much loved and sadly missed by his wife Jean, family and friends. A private cremation will be followed by a Service of Thanksgiving in Hope United Reformed Church, Weymouth, DT48TW at 1300 on Tuesday 30th May and afterwards in Hope Square. No flowers please and any donations, if desired, to the RNLI.
