Trainee Merlin Mk2 helicopter aircrew from 824 Naval Air Squadron, supported by the squadron’s engineers, took the opportunity to conduct exercises with aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales last week.
The ship was off the coast of Cornwall for a few days conducting a range of exercises. They were also joined by 820 NAS, the Merlin squadron dedicated to protecting the carriers, as well as RAF Chinooks.
